The Coop offers the following language services:    English Second Language Training   Training provided by the experienced teachers of the Cooperative is designed to the specific language needs of the client. Whether in a small group of the same level, or in one on one environment, the teacher approaches the language development of each student on an individual basis. After assessing the initial knowledge and skill level of the student, an objective based programme is designed that facilitates the efficient and effective improvement of the elements identified as essential for the client’s language improvement and development.   Teaching methods apply a dynamic approach to learning, using a variety of stimulating techniques as well as aids which have been designed to motivate the student towards improvement and attainment. Evocative written material, stimulating electronic media presentations, and enjoyable classroom activities complement the formal grammatical exercises and provide a motivating stimulus for class discussion.   With a focus on speaking practice, the understanding and application of correct grammatical usage is developed using a progressive approach which takes the basic knowledge of the student through a process of imposed correction leading to auto-correction and finalising in correct reflex application. This closely monitored approach facilitates the efficient development and appropriate use of more sophisticated written and spoken comprehension and expression skills.       Legal translation   The Coop offers Legal Translation Services from French to English to its clients in the following areas of law:   Administrative law Commercial law Corporate law Energy and mining Labour law Real estate Securities law Taxation   The following should be noted with regard to the legal translation services offered by the Coop:   Legal translation is only offered from French to English. Some words are spelled differently depending on where in the English-speaking world one is. For instance, in Canada we write “colour” and “cheque”, whereas in the United States these same words are written “color” and “check”. Unless otherwise specified by the client the English used by the Coop in translation is the standard Canadian English. Estimates of both time and cost will be provided at no charge. Special rates can be negotiated for regular or repeat business. The Coop will endeavour to notify the client of any errors or ambiguities in the document to be translated but accepts no responsibility for errors or ambiguities in the English translation which result from errors or ambiguities in the French document.
